Today Lillian was over at Zeke and Jessie's. While in a baby swing she leaned forward (my guess is to look at the ground while she was swinging) and slipped right out of the straps. Jessie reports she did a flip in the air and landed on her tummy. She cried for 15 seconds and that was all.
Also as we watched "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" at Jeremiah and Elisa's house Lillian sat in Laura's lap and watch with us. A few times as we all laughed, Lillian joined in.
One morning in early September I had just woken up and walked into the living room. Laura and Lillian were sitting on the couch, and Laura said "Here comes da-da". Lillian said "Da-Da, yeah". She says da-da when you prompt her, but has quite caught on that she should call me that.
Elisa reports that when she's telling Juda "No", Lillian looks up to see what she's doing wrong.
When Laura's parents visited in August Lillian started to push books away when you were reading something to her she didn't like. Sometime in late August I realized I could get her to pick the next book. I would hold up two books and get her to choose one. She will stare at each book in turn, deeply considering her choice, then wave a hand at one and make a noise. This week when I've started singing her "Twinkle Twinkle" as I do every night after I'm done reading books, she's stopped me by reaching over the the table besides the chair that has all the books, looking for some other book.
When reading to her, I know it's getting close to time to put her in bed when she gives a BIG SIGH.
